There are only a handful of these midweek gems each year. There’s a lovely afternoon energy, a lessening of the usual logistical traffic crush, and the unparalleled joy of not getting home super late.

If you can find a client willing to ditch work and join you for a day at the ballpark, this is a great one to make it happen.

The cool part is that, along with throwing back a few brewskis while discussing serious business topics, you should actually get to see a decent game since the Rays are one of the other best teams in baseball.

Also given the unusual timing, you can often pick up seats at a decent price.

Added Value: I grew up in Chicago where Cubs day games were relatively common. One summer afternoon in high school I ran into my old Jr. High gym teacher (the cool young guy teacher) heading out of Wrigley. We walked past his car together and found a parking ticket on the windshield. He told me these things weren't a big deal, ripped it up in front of me, and drove off.

I don’t recommend ripping up a parking ticket (even for trying to look cool in front of a teenager), but I do think that sums up the easy-breezy good times energy of a weekday game.
