“Every new article of clothing you buy should be ‘50% you, 50% new’.”

This is a quote that I have confidently, and mistakenly, been attributing to Michael Kors for years. Apparently he never said it, and I actually couldn’t even find if anyone ever did (lol).

In my male lizard-brain version of the quote, it means you need to mix what you always do with something new and different. You can’t just endlessly add plaid button-downs with tiny western-themed logos to your collection like I do.

For something to be memorable, it inherently requires some level of novelty whether it’s a button-down, or a client entertainment experience.

Think of MeetWell as your 50% new.

Get Your Face a Workout at FACEGYM

FACEGYM is exactly what it sounds like: a workout for your face. It also sounds like the most LA thing imaginable.

The basic idea is that your face has muscles, muscles respond to movement, and you can train and strengthen them. Designed as an alternative to the rise of Botox and fillers, it’s a noninvasive facial ‘workout’ that lifts and tones your face.

The actual workout experience is relatively short (35 minutes - quick overview of the process), which means you’ll have some time to work out your thumb scrolling TikTok to find more bougie, celeb-friendly self-care trends.

Basics:

Locations:

Cost:

  • $145 - Signature Workout (35 mins + consultation)

  • $90 - Express Workout (20 mins + consultation)

Links to send your client:

  • Video description of the experience (link)

Added Value: This feels like one you might have a difficult time explaining to your Midwest Uncle at Thanksgiving without getting an eyeroll, but your clients, who have undoubtedly been targeted on TikTok with Gua Sha videos, will be stoked. Get cheek-to-cheek with the zeitgeist.

WWE Monday Night Raw at Intuit Dome on Monday July 27th

Sometimes client entertainment is about the spectacle. Do I watch WWE regularly? No. Do I think it’d be a hilarious, fun, and incredibly memorable thing to do once? 100%.

With levels of drama that would rival The Real Housewives, Monday Night Raw has been WWE’s flagship show for over 30 years. The best part is you need absolutely zero context on the storylines to have a great time.

But how much backstory do you really need to enjoy watching massive dudes wearing make up and leotards get smacked with a folding chair?

Basics:

  • Intuit Dome

  • Start time: 4:30pm

Cost:

Links to send to your client:

  • Drama breakdown (here)

  • Insane acrobatics and takedowns from the men’s (here) and women’s (here) matches!

Added Value: I used to work with a writer who was a true character and massive WWE fan. One night after working on a campaign, he wanted to join me for a fancy client dinner in Beverly Hills. His fashion style was a little casual to say the least, so I gave him a heads up to wear something a little nicer than his usual get up. Well, he rolled in with his ‘nice’ shirt, which was an extremely loud, all-over WWE print of his favorite wrestler, Brock Lesnar. Let’s just say we had the first 20 minutes of conversation taken care of right there.

Electric Mountain Bike Ride In Malibu

For your athletically inclined and outdoorsy clients, Malibu Mountain Bikers (MMB) guides groups of up to 10 through a version of Malibu that most people never see.

You’ll meet at Zuma Ridge Trailhead near Zuma Beach, and with the help of an electric mountain bike, earn some spectacularly beautiful views on a 2-2.5 hour ride.

MMB uses top-of-the-line ebikes ($7-9K each), and is the preferred mountain biking outfit for The Four Seasons in Westlake Village and the Nobu Hotel Ryokan Malibu.

I spoke with Craig Stover, the owner and main guide, who slugged it out with us in the corporate world for decades before starting MMB to lean into his love of mountain biking.

Unlike most experience vendors, Craig’s background means he understands the dynamics of client entertainment, and has designed MMB to make the most of it.

Basics:

  • Where: Above Zuma Beach, Malibu (meet at trailhead)

  • Duration: 2–2.5 hours (can be adjusted)

  • When: Available 7 days a week and any time of day. Must start no later than 3 hours before sunset.

  • Group size: Up to 10

Cost and Reservations:

  • $195-350 depending on the size of the group and number of guides needed.

  • Reserve 4-6 weeks out

  • Basic bike proficiency required

Food/Drinks Nearby: Since you’ll likely be a bit fried from the ride, here’s some spots that are fairly quick and casual with easy parking.

  • Ride the health kick and get a smoothie and acai bowl at SunLife Organics at their Malibu Country Mart or Point Dume Village locations. ($-$$)

  • Malibu Seafood ($$) for a classic outdoor roadside seafood shack

  • Malibu Country Mart has a wide array of strong dining options based on what you need.

Legal:

  • Malibu Mountain Bikers has a commercial use permit to lead groups into the Santa Monica Mountains

  • Fully licensed with insurance that covers all attendees

Links to send your client:

  • The website itself has a great collection of photos that do a nice job of firing up the FOMO.

Added Value: One of my many goals with MeetWell is to help buyers and sellers accomplish a few things at once. In this case that means checking off a bucket list LA experience, getting some fresh air and exercise, and an unforgettable client experience. Only thing you need now is an oceanfront mansion in Malibu to do it more often.

The Oasis 🏝

Ever been hanging with a client and conversation just runs dry? Whether it’s recent and topical, or general and evergreen, the Oasis is about giving you one idea for helping you in that moment.

The Scots drank Boston dry. A heartwarming World Cup story (here) about how the Scots descended on Boston for their first game and drank four times what the bar usually sells during a holiday weekend like the Fourth of July or St. Patrick’s Day. In an era where many are cutting back on drinking, thankfully we have the Scots to fill in the void.
